Open Access, Copyright and Licensing Policy

Open Access, Copyright and Licensing Policy

1. Open Access Statement

Medical and Pharmaceutical Health Research Journal (MPHRJ) is committed to providing access to scholarly research in accordance with the journal's stated access policy.

Under the journal's open access model, published articles are made freely available online without a subscription or payment requirement for readers.

Readers may access and read published articles without charge. Any additional rights to share, distribute, adapt, or reuse an article are governed by the applicable copyright and licensing terms stated on the article's webpage.

The journal aims to support the broad dissemination of reliable medical, pharmaceutical, and health research while respecting the rights of authors and other rights holders.

2. Copyright Ownership

Authors retain copyright in their published work, unless a different arrangement is explicitly agreed in writing.

By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that they have the right to submit the work for publication and to grant the journal the permissions necessary to publish, distribute, preserve, and identify the article.

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce third-party material, including figures, tables, photographs, questionnaires, and other copyrighted content, where permission is required.

Copyright ownership and any transfer or license granted to the journal will be documented in the journal's publication agreement or applicable author declaration.

3. Creative Commons License

Unless otherwise stated on an individual article's webpage, articles published under this policy are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Under this license, users may copy, redistribute, and adapt the material for any purpose, including commercial use, provided that they:

  • Give appropriate credit to the original author or authors.

  • Provide a reference or link to the original publication.

  • Include a link to the applicable Creative Commons license.

  • Indicate whether changes were made.

  • Do not imply that the original authors or the journal endorse the reuse.

The license does not automatically grant rights to third-party material within an article when that material is excluded from the article's Creative Commons license or is subject to separate rights.

License terms are available at:
https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

4. Author Rights and Reuse

Authors may share and distribute their published articles in accordance with the applicable license and any relevant legal requirements.

Where CC BY 4.0 applies, authors and other users may reuse the licensed material, including for commercial purposes, provided that the license conditions are followed.

Authors should ensure that shared copies retain appropriate attribution, the original publication details, and a link to the published version whenever practicable.

Any rights not granted by the applicable license remain subject to the relevant copyright law and other applicable agreements.

5. Reader Rights and Responsibilities

Readers may access published articles without a subscription or payment requirement.

Reuse of an article must comply with the license displayed on the article's webpage. Users must provide appropriate attribution and must not misrepresent the source, authorship, findings, or meaning of the work.

Where material is excluded from the article's license, users must obtain any additional permissions required by the relevant rights holder unless an exception under applicable law applies.

6. Publication Fees and Charges

The journal's publication fee policy is stated separately and must be disclosed to authors before submission.

Any applicable article processing charges, submission fees, page charges, language editing charges, or other publication-related fees will be clearly identified, including the amount, currency, payment stage, and circumstances in which a fee may be charged.

If the journal does not charge authors any submission or publication fees, this will be stated explicitly on the journal's website.

Editorial decisions and peer review are conducted independently of payment arrangements. Payment of a fee, where applicable, does not guarantee acceptance or publication.

7. Third-Party Material

Authors must identify material in their submissions for which they do not hold the necessary rights and obtain written permission when required.

Any third-party material subject to a separate license or copyright arrangement should be appropriately acknowledged and identified in the published article.

The journal may request evidence of permission before publication. Material for which the required rights cannot be established may need to be removed, replaced, or handled under an appropriate alternative arrangement.

8. Repository and Institutional Sharing

Authors may deposit and share their published articles in institutional repositories, subject repositories, or other permitted platforms in accordance with the applicable article license and any relevant legal requirements.

Where permitted, repository copies should include the article's full citation, the original publication link, and the applicable license information.

Authors remain responsible for complying with the terms governing any third-party material included in a deposited version.

9. Licensing Information and Article Identification

The applicable copyright holder, license, and publication terms should be clearly displayed on each article's webpage and, where practicable, in the published article file.

The journal aims to maintain consistent licensing information across its website, article PDFs, metadata, and relevant publishing platforms.

If an error is identified in the displayed copyright or license information, the journal will assess the issue and make appropriate corrections to maintain an accurate publication record.

10. Policy Transparency and Review

The journal will make its access model, copyright arrangements, licensing terms, and publication fees publicly available and easy to locate.

Any changes to these policies will be communicated clearly. Changes will not be used to misrepresent the license or rights that apply to articles already published.

The journal will review this policy periodically to ensure that its stated practices accurately reflect its publishing arrangements and applicable legal requirements.
