Journal Website Transparency, Contact Information, and Publisher Identification Policy

Journal Website Transparency, Contact Information, and Publisher Identification Policy

1. Purpose and Commitment to Transparency

The Medical and Pharmaceutical Health Research Journal (MPHRJ) is committed to maintaining a transparent, accurate, and accessible journal website. The journal aims to provide authors, readers, reviewers, editors, and other stakeholders with clear information about its identity, ownership, publishing responsibilities, editorial processes, publication policies, and contact channels.

Information published on the journal website should be accurate, kept up to date, and consistent across relevant pages and published materials.

2. Journal Identity

The journal website should clearly identify the Medical and Pharmaceutical Health Research Journal (MPHRJ) and provide the following information, as applicable:

  • The journal's full official title and any established abbreviation.

  • The journal's International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) for print and/or online editions, where assigned.

  • The journal's aims and scope.

  • Its publication frequency and publication history.

  • The types of manuscripts it considers.

  • Its language or languages of publication.

  • Its open-access status and applicable licensing terms.

  • Its peer-review model.

  • Its publication ethics and research integrity policies.

  • Its publication fees, if any.

  • Its archiving and digital preservation arrangements.

The journal will not display unverified identifiers, accreditation claims, indexing claims, or affiliations.

3. Publisher, Ownership, and Publishing Responsibility

The journal website should identify the legal or organizational name of the publisher and, where applicable, the organization or individual responsible for publishing and maintaining the journal.

The website should clearly distinguish the publisher from the editor-in-chief, editorial board, sponsoring organization, and other affiliated entities when these are different parties.

Where applicable, the journal should disclose its ownership, sponsoring organization, and relevant organizational relationships. Any material changes in ownership, publishing responsibility, or journal management should be reflected on the website in a timely manner.

The journal should provide an accurate description of the responsibilities of the publisher and editorial leadership. The publisher is responsible for the journal's publishing infrastructure and administrative support, while editorial decisions should be made according to the journal's stated editorial policies and procedures.

4. Editorial Leadership and Governance

The journal website should identify the editor-in-chief and provide an editorial board list that reflects the journal's actual editorial structure.

Where available and appropriate, the website should include editors' institutional affiliations, editorial roles, and professional contact information. Names, affiliations, academic credentials, and professional biographies must be accurate and should not be published without an appropriate basis.

The journal should describe the responsibilities of its editorial leadership and maintain procedures for managing competing interests, editorial independence, and submissions from editors or editorial board members.

Editorial board membership does not imply that an individual has endorsed every article published in the journal.

5. Official Contact Information

The journal website should provide a reliable and clearly identifiable means of contacting the editorial office.

Contact information should include, as applicable:

  • The official editorial office email address.

  • The publisher's or journal office's postal address.

  • The name or role of the office responsible for editorial inquiries.

  • A contact channel for manuscript submission and publication-related questions.

  • A means of reporting publication ethics concerns or potential errors in published articles.

  • Additional publisher contact details where appropriate.

Contact details should be monitored regularly and updated when they change. The journal should avoid presenting personal contact information as official institutional information unless the relevant individual has authorized its publication.

The journal should acknowledge and handle legitimate inquiries within a reasonable period, taking into account the nature and urgency of the request.

6. Editorial Independence and Conflicts of Interest

Editorial decisions should be based on the scientific quality, relevance, originality, validity, and ethical acceptability of submitted work, in accordance with the journal's editorial policies.

Commercial interests, advertising, sponsorship, institutional relationships, or other external considerations must not improperly influence editorial decisions.

Editors, reviewers, and authors should disclose relevant competing interests in accordance with the journal's policies. Procedures should be in place to manage conflicts involving editors or editorial board members.

The journal should provide a clear description of its editorial decision-making process and safeguards for editorial independence.

7. Website Content and Policy Accessibility

The journal website should provide accessible links to its principal policies and publication information, including:

  • Aims and Scope.

  • Instructions for Authors.

  • Peer Review Policy.

  • Publication Ethics and Research Integrity.

  • Authorship and Contributorship.

  • Conflicts of Interest and Funding.

  • Open Access, Copyright, and Licensing.

  • Publication Fees and Waiver Policy, if applicable.

  • Plagiarism and Research Misconduct Policy.

  • Corrections, Retractions, and Editorial Expressions of Concern.

  • Digital Preservation and Archiving Policy.

  • Privacy and Data Protection information.

  • Complaints and Appeals procedures.

Policies should be written in clear language, reflect the journal's actual practices, and be reviewed periodically. Where a policy changes materially, the journal should update the relevant page and, when appropriate, indicate the date of the latest revision.

8. Publication Fees and Commercial Relationships

The journal should disclose all mandatory publication-related charges, including article processing charges, submission fees, page charges, or other required payments, if applicable.

If the journal does not charge authors publication fees, this should be stated clearly.

The website should explain any available waiver or discount arrangements and when, in the publication process, fees may be assessed. Any advertising, sponsorship, or commercial relationships that could reasonably be perceived as relevant to editorial independence should be managed transparently.

No payment should guarantee acceptance or a favorable editorial decision.

9. Indexing, Abstracting, and External Affiliations

The journal should accurately describe its inclusion in indexing, abstracting, citation, and scholarly discovery services.

Claims of indexing or accreditation should be made only when verified through the relevant service's official records. The journal should distinguish between inclusion in a database, registration of a DOI, discoverability through a search engine, membership in an organization, and application for evaluation.

The journal must not imply acceptance by PubMed, MEDLINE, PubMed Central (PMC), or another database merely because an application has been submitted, an application is under review, or metadata can be accessed through a third-party service.

Any displayed logos or statements suggesting affiliation, endorsement, indexing, or certification should be accurate and used in accordance with the relevant organization's requirements.

10. Privacy and Website Security

The journal should explain how personal information submitted through manuscript systems, contact forms, email correspondence, and website services is handled.

A privacy notice should identify the types of information collected, the purposes of processing, relevant recipients or service providers where applicable, retention practices, and a contact channel for privacy-related inquiries.

The journal should take reasonable measures to protect submitted manuscripts, reviewer identities where confidential, account information, and other non-public editorial communications.

The website should use appropriate technical and administrative measures to maintain the integrity and availability of its content and to reduce unauthorized access.

11. Complaints and Requests for Clarification

Authors, reviewers, readers, and other stakeholders should have a clear route to raise concerns about journal operations, editorial conduct, publication practices, inaccurate website information, or potential breaches of publication ethics.

Complaints should be reviewed fairly and, where appropriate, by a person who is independent of the matter being challenged. Concerns involving the editor-in-chief or publisher should be referred to an appropriate alternative contact or responsible authority.

The journal should handle complaints professionally, protect confidential information as appropriate, and communicate outcomes where reasonably possible.

12. Responsibility for Maintaining Website Information

The journal's designated editorial or publishing personnel are responsible for reviewing the accuracy of website information within their respective roles.

The journal should periodically check contact details, editorial board information, publisher identification, policy links, fee disclosures, licensing information, and indexing claims.

Material errors should be corrected promptly. This policy should be read together with the journal's Publication Ethics, Peer Review, Open Access and Licensing, Privacy, and Corrections and Retractions policies.
